Meet Mrs. Halpin
I graduated from Monmouth University with a Teacher of the Handicapped and Elementary Education Degree. I received my Masters Degree from Nova Southeastern University with a Teaching and Learning with a reading specialization. This is my 21st year teaching, 15th in Colts Neck. In that time I held a variety of positions from preschool to fourth grade and feel fortunate to have worked in a wide variety of settings from self contained, resource room (replacement/pull out) and resource room (in-class).
I love working and helping children to learn and grow. I hope to radiate my enthusiasm of learning to your child. I firmly believe children learn best by experimenting and doing. This is why I like to give my students a lot of hands on practice to the skills they are learning. My goal is to make learning not just educational for your child, but fun as well.
When I am not in school I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and daughter. I love giving my children new experiences and opportunities while watching them learn about the world in which they live. I also enjoy photography and scrap booking.
Educational Philosophy:
Education is a perpetual enriching process of ongoing growth. The experiences in life one faces provides a majority of this growth and development. Taking this into account, I attempt to provide my students with a wide range of activities and experiences that are multi-disciplinary and hands on to teach the whole child in attempt to assist the student in becoming well rounded. In the process, I hope students find learning to be excited and rewarding.
